Belconnen Community Theatre

The Belconnen Community Theatre is a versatile, accessible, space within the Belconnen Community Centre. The theatre is used for performances, screenings, community forums, and corporate presentations and events.

Local performing arts groups, both professional and amateur, utilise the theatre as a rehearsal space and as a venue for performances. Many groups present one night only shows, and the theatre also hosts multi-week runs from Canberran production companies such as Ickle Pickle, Tempo, and Child Players.

The Belconnen Community Theatre is the venue for the BCS Belco Flicks short film festival, which celebrates local film-making talent. Belco Flicks provides an opportunity for local audiences to enjoy local stories, told by local people. In 2017, Belco Flicks will become part of the Canberra Short Film Festival, one of Australia’s oldest and most well-respected short film festivals. BCS also hosts film events in the theatre, providing affordable screenings of movies and documentaries that are of interest to the community.
