Soul of Fiji
August 10 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Belconnen Community Gallery ‘Springboard’ series presents “Soul of Fiji”
An exhibition of photography by the United Nations Information Centre/Canberra Institute of Technology 2016 Photography Competition Prize Winner Lydia Downe
July 31-August 11 with an official exhibition opening 5:30pm Wednesday August 2
In February this year, Lydia Downe travelled to Fiji to work alongside UN Women documenting their Markets for Change program. During this time Lydia discovered the Soul of Fiji in the vibrant fresh food of the markets, and the determined businesswomen selling them. Soul of Fiji is a fundraising exhibition exploring the markets of Fiji, and looking at the essential aid work of the Markets for Change Program. A program aimed at improving the safety and livelihoods of the Fijian Women, which in turn feed the Soul of Fiji.
All money raised at the exhibition will be donated to the Markets for Change Program.
