The Youth Connections program provides a holistic approach to servicing young people at risk of disengaging, or already disengaged from education, family and/or the community. Youth Connections supports individuals aged 12-18yrs through individualised and flexible case-management as well as outreach support in schools and the community.
The Youth Connections Program is available to eligible young people who live in the Belconnen region. This is a voluntary program that enables young people to build strategies to overcome barriers to participation and engagement.
To be eligible for the Belconnen Youth Connections program the young person must:
- be residing in the Belconnen region,
- be aged between 12 and 18 years,
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and
- be classified as at risk of not attaining Year 12 or equivalent and/or at risk of not making a successful transition through school and to further education, training or employment.
Young people may self-refer or be referred to the Youth Connections Program through schools, other education and training providers, other programs or services involving young people, a family member or guardian, Centrelink, Job Services Australia Provider.
Youth Connections is a working partnership with Anglicare Canberra and Goulburn. Youth Connections is funded by the Commonwealth of Australian as represented by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
