Meet Our NDIS Team

Rachel - Service Coordinator

Rachel – Service Coordinator

Hi, my name is Rachel. I have worked for Belconnen Community Service since October 2013. When I first was employed by BCS I was a Support Worker in the community and worked with the aged, frail and disabled. I am a newly appointed service coordinator within the NDIS team. I am located out at Kippax. One part of my role is to contact people with disabilities who are due to transition to the NDIS. I meet with eligible participants in a location they are comfortable with and assist them to fill out the access request forms and post to the NDIS for review and approval. Once this has been completed and approved, I am able to put services in place with different departments from Belconnen Community Service. I also liaise with other agencies for different types of service and supports. Over the weeks I keep in contact with the participant and the other agencies to ensure all services are running appropriately for the participant. I also attend plan reviews with participants and the NDIS Team in either Belconnen or Braddon.

Pilar - Support Worker

Pilar – Support Worker

I have been working with Belconnen Community Service for two years and have had various roles. I really enjoy my job, in particular, supporting participants with the challenges of transitioning to the NDIS.

My role consists of connecting people to supports, running groups for people living with disability or mental health and one to one support work with children and adults. One of the most exciting times at this stage is the transition of participants to the NDIS. I have assisted many families and participants in conveying what they need in their NDIS plans. It is important to understand that every person should have choice and control over their plan and future.
