Day to Day Living

Day to Day (D2D) Living is service that offers support to people experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. D2DLiving staff aim to create a welcoming environment for clients to improve their daily living skills while engaging in social, recreational and educational activities. D2DLiving staff will work collaboratively with clients to:

  • Create a safe and comfortable environment for recovery
  • Recognize each person’s current capabilities
  • Develop a recovery path
  • Identify possible goals in an individual support plan
  • Recognise achievements and adjust goals on a regular basis

To help people reach their goals, the D2DLiving program offers courses that encourage resilience including:

  • Communication Skills
  • Self Esteem
  • Work Ready Skills
  • Budgeting
  • Cooking and Nutrition
  • Photography
  • Exercise and Leisure

Program staff will also be able to help client's research, identify and access other programs that will help them achieve their individual goals. Discretionary funds may be available to clients to pursue study options, employment or other activities which enhance client's recovery from mental illness.

A casual Drop-In Centre is another element of the D2DLiving program. Clients are welcome to drop by for tea and coffee, to have a chat, to use a computer or to get more information about other services they can access.
