Communities for Children is an early intervention program that supports parents and families with young children aged 0-5.

The aim of the program is to build on communities’ strengths and to provide a sound foundation for all children living in West Belconnen which includes Flynn, Fraser, Charnwood, Macgregor, Holt, Higgins, Dunlop, and Latham.

Our work is based on the fact that the nurturing and care children receive in their early years strongly influence their development into adulthood. The more we support and encourage children, the better equipped they will be to deal with life’s ups and downs, and the more likely they are to develop into well adjusted, healthy, productive, caring adults.

Communities for Children provides case management support for vulnerable families with young children living in the West Belconnen area including home visiting, advocacy and assistance with issues impacting on parenting capacity. It also works in partnership with other programs and services to deliver group programs such as playgroup and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program).
