History of Buzzing…

David, Max and NickMc first improvised together in June 2004, in a fantastic production called 'When one man...' by ex-pat playwright and conman A.J. Biega. They enjoyed themselves immensely.. .In 2004 Max and Dave began creating scenes from improvised dialogue and adding heightened physicalities which culminated in a small piece 'Charlie' for Zapt... Max came back from the ATYP national studio bursting with ideas and in early 2005, members of Buzzing formed part of a large contingent of friends who would gather in various locations to explore theatrical areas of interest.

At some point a glorious benefactor in the form of The Belconnen Community Centre appeared and said to Max: "you guys are cool, have a space to play in FOR FREE II" Max wet his pants with joy...

The first major showing for Buzzing's work was in the NUTS show One Night Only: Dallas Rockwell's Confessional Tour, which played this year in the C-Block Theatre. One Night Only comprised three short plays set at a pop concert. Four of the six members of Buzzing (Max, David, Petra, and Nickmc) were involved in performing, devising and directing a movement-improvisation based play called 'Savage Dancefloor'. The twenty minute piece focused on six unlucky dancers who were put through a rigorous series of lethal exercises by an all-powerful witchdoctor.

Since September 05, Buzzing has been working in earnest, laying down its paws at night and sweating through the winter midnights, building a show based around our own experiences as young theatre-makers.
